Top OTT releases of June 2023

The month of June 2023 is going to be a blast for content consumers as a host of interesting & star studded movies and web shows await their releases on the OTT. Let's have a look at some of them today:

1. Asur 2

Returning on JioCinema after a wait of 3 long years, on June 1, 2023, is the Arshad Warsi starrer Asur season 2. The plot for Asur 2 involves the return of Shubh for revenge, with the challenge being taken to a whole new level. The heroes have fallen apart, leaving Dhananjay Rajpoot and Nikhil Nair to stop him​. Barun Sobti plays the character of Nikhil Nair. Other star cast includes Anupriya Goenka, Ridhi Dogra and Vishesh Bansal.

2. Scoop

The Indian web series Scoop will release on June 2, 2023, on the streaming platform Netflix. Scoop is a crime drama series that is based on the real-life story of Jigna Vora, who was accused of the murder of mid-day reporter Jyotirmoy Dey in June 2011. It is based on Jigna Vora's biographical memoir "Behind Bars in Byculla: My Days in Prison"

Created by Hansal Mehta, the director of Scam 1992, the star cast of Scoop includes Karishma Tanna, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, and Harman Baweja to name a few.

3. Bloody Daddy

Bloody Daddy is an action thriller movie directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, co-written by Aditya Basu and Siddharth-Garima, and produced by Jio Studios. The movie features Shahid Kapoor, Sanjay Kapoor, Diana Penty, Ronit Roy, Rajeev Khandelwal, Ankur Bhatia, and Vivan Bhatena. The film is slated to release on June 9, 2023, on the Jio Cinema OTT platform.

4. Extraction 2

Produced by Russo Brothers and directed by Sam Hargrave, Extraction 2 is all set to release on Netflix on 16 June 2023. Starring Chris Hemsworth, the plot of Extraction 2 revolves around Tyler Rake trying to rescue a ruthless Georgian gangster's family from a prison where they are being held at.

5. Night Manager: Part 2

The Indian web series Night Manager: Part 2 will release on Disney+ Hotstar on June 30, 2023​. The show is an Indian adaptation of the British series of the same title, based on John le Carre's 1993 novel of the same name. The series follows Shaan Sengupta (Aditya Roy Kapur), a night manager, on his journey to bring down a notorious arms dealer, Shailendra 'Shelly' Rungta (Anil Kapoor)​.

The starcast of the series includes Anil Kapoor, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sobhita Dhulipala, with Tillotama Shome, Ravi Behl, and Saswata Chatterjee in supporting roles​. The show has been produced by Deepak Dhar, Rishi Negi, and Rajesh Chadha, and directed by Sandeep Modi​.
